About this camp

Creating Your World is an advanced summer program at Colorado State University designed for middle school students aged 12-14, or rising 7th-9th graders, who have either completed the 'Engineering Your World' program or possess advanced STEM knowledge. This program focuses on hands-on engineering projects and design challenges that build upon core science and engineering principles. Students will engage in solving real-world engineering challenges, conducting experiments, and measuring data. Activities for the 2026 program have been updated and will involve identifying a problem, then designing, building, testing, iterating, and demonstrating a solution, likely including an Arduino-controlled robot. Participants will also have the opportunity to tour and utilize CSU's state-of-the-art mechanical engineering laboratories, including 3D printing facilities, mechatronics labs, and machine shops. The program aims to enhance critical thinking, time management, and problem-solving skills while practicing the design process.
