Campers get to plant a magical mini garden to take home, extending the learning and connection to nature beyond the camp itself.
Denver Botanic Gardens' "Enchanted Ecology" camp offers elementary-aged children a week of immersive exploration into the natural world. Campers will delve into the mysteries and histories of plants, fostering a deeper understanding of ecology through engaging activities. The program emphasizes hands-on learning, combining scientific investigation with creative expression. Children will participate in exciting garden adventures, create unique flora-inspired art projects, and cultivate their own magical mini garden to take home, allowing them to continue their learning and connection with nature beyond the camp experience. The camp aims to build confidence in campers as scientists, explorers, gardeners, artists, and stewards of the natural world.
A typical day involves a variety of activities combining STEM and art, with opportunities for gardening, sensory exploration of plants, mindfulness practices, games, and teambuilding activities.
This camp is best for children aged 6-12 who are curious about plants, enjoy art, and love outdoor exploration and hands-on learning.
